A great challenge for all of us, but after this long day and thanks the help of 306 hands we have created our armchair vanessa4newcraft simply starting from the structure.
The idea for this third crowdcrafting project, in cooperation with Berto Industria Tessile, Exnovo e Confartigianato Imprese, was to celebrate the new way of working and to create together our armchair, the symbol for this new generation of artisans.
DESIGN + ARTISAN WORK
It is our third crowdcrafting project and BertO wanted to realize something special and sophisticated. We wanted to present something really different: we did not want just to set up the standard artisan way of working, but also to involve the best designers and artisans in this area, the innovative technology by exnovo, Berto Industria Tessile and Confartigianato Imprese to create something unique and exclusive: original design, solid wood structure, feet made of stainless steel with antique copper finishing, capitonnè seatback, indigo denim cover and 3d print buttons.
OPEN DOORS AND SHARING
We decided to open the doors of our laboratory and to move it into a very symbolic place. We showed all people our working way, described them what stays behind the final product they buy for their house and involved all people in a working experience never seen before.
NEW CRAFT CHALLENGE
The exhibition New Craft celebrates a new dimension of working, managed by a new generation of artisans who is able to offer extremely worth items through technology and design, which have not simply an economic value but above all a cultural value to share with others. Vanessa4newcraft is our idea for this exclusive crowdcrafting project.
