Meda, Berto donates 5% of their sales to the fight against coronavirus.
This is the initiative of the furnishing company which has seen an amazing increase in business over the last few years thanks to technology, social networks and the Internet. 


This is the opening phrase of the article published in Il Giorno on Wednesday 11th March and signed by Fabio Lombardi.


This follows the decision made by Filippo Berto to temporarily suspend the activity in the showrooms because he believes that to remain open is an invitation for people to come into the stores when today we must stay at home. Everyone must stay at home. 


The reply from our customers, not only those in Italy but also from those around the world, has been extraordinary and touching. 


Filippo Berto anticipated the governments decision to close the shops with a video in which he explained the society’s decision to help contain the emergency. 


The news was also broadcast on Fatto Quotidiano, on Telelombardia, in local newspapers and even in China where the national TV station sent a troupe of journalists to find out how the most important furnishing production area in Italy is dealing with this emergency. 


However the decision to suspend activity in the BertO showrooms in Meda, Rome, Turin, Padova and Brescia does not mean that the society is not operative. On the contrary.

Furthermore, until the end of this emergency, we have decided to donate 5% of our sales to the FONDAZIONE IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico in Milan, a foundation which is in the front line in the fight against Covid-19.
